Homemade Ginger Beer

Firstly, start with the ingredients you will need to make a ginger beer. Let’s start fresh by taking clean gingers with cream of tartar and lemon juice. You will also need a baker’s yeast and a good amount of water. We are using this method because the yeast can consume all the sugar and can make it healthier.


Let’s start by cleaning the ginger properly with water and keeping them aside to dry out. After the ginger is dry, you need to peel it and then chop it using a grinder. Make sure the chopping is fine and has small particles.

After chopping the ginger, keep them aside. Now take a pan and heat it a little. After heating a little, put cream of tartar on it, and without giving it a second, put lemon juice in it.

After putting lemon juice and cream of tartar, you need to put the chopped ginger properly. After doing all these three steps, put a jug of water in it. Make sure to do these within 10 seconds without giving any relaxation time between them.

After a little bit of time, add sugar to it and stir it well with a spoon or spatula. The sugar will give us that sweet taste of ginger beer.

After some time and continuously steering, you need to add a little amount of water to it.

After this, now cool the resultant liquid up to 75 degrees. After all these steps, you need to add dry yeast to it. Stir the whole solution well and carefully.

You need to cover the pot after these steps and then place it in a dark area for at least 3 hours. You can use a dry cloth for covering the utensil or even a lid.

After these steps, you need to take a cloth to cover it and put your ginger beer in it. The fabric will trap all the big particles of ginger beer.

Store the resultant liquid in a bottle and keep it in the darkroom for at least 2 to 3 days.

Take a glass with ice in it and pour your ginger tea in it. You can also squeeze a little bit of lemon juice in it to make it taste even better.
